The latest exhibition at K.A.S. Gallery takes you to a dimension you have never seen before. The K.A.S.A. S.S. is a new and exciting journey into an unprecedented and unprecedented world, a world of playful imagination, where the remains of heavy metal objects from a mysterious empire appear against a backdrop of softly toned watercolours of the undiscovered landscapes of the smouldering universe. Magyari's objects do not push the boundaries of science fiction, but are rather fragmentary motifs of our - actual - existence, born of the reality of imagination and only our imagination can make them real.
In fact, it is as if they were not sculptures at all, but miniature objects of a universe that is familiar in its unfamiliarity, monumental in this form - even in their mock-up nature, they are grand in their grandiosity. But can Magyari's unique world be deciphered? Is there a code to decipher it? Can the mystery that leads to an endless timeline be solved? The mystery of the future encoded in ancient cultures.... The riddle of a world in which time is unravelling?... The answer - if there is one - lies in our most sophisticated, most addictive senses. The name of the code is unknown at the moment.
About the artist:Balázs Magyari graduated from the sculpture department of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts with Ádám Farkas. The artist, who moved from Târgu Mures when he was a teenager, became known for his grandiose metal sculptures, in addition to his lightweight watercolours. The peculiarity of his works is that they are in constant dialogue with each other. They are not solitary objects, but rather cohesive props of an unknown universe.A world that links the past with the future in an all-encompassing, continuous present.At once familiar and alien, tragic and painfully joyful, mysterious and distant, yet, if we allow it to reach our deepest instincts, at home and emotional.The exhibition is open until 20 September 2024.
