Guilt trip - Vitaszínház a fenntarthatóságról

In 2019, Jérôme Bel, one of the most respected artists in the theatre and dance scene, called on the art world to stop flying and incorporate the ideal of sustainability into their creative practice. Can the global art community be expected to make such a shift in their routines and practices? Is it possible to achieve a goal by fine-tuning our methods, or do we need to radically rethink and rebuild what we think about artistic practice?Can a young artist afford to make gestures like those of one of the world's most renowned choreographers? What is the role of art in sustainability? Do we see sustainability as a constraint on our freedom or as a resource? Can we all become Greta Thunberg?

One thing is for sure, Jérôme Bel's statement has shaken up the whole art world. It has highlighted how divided we are on this issue. Trafó's participatory theatre workshop, the Thought Generator, in conjunction with Jérôme Bel, Dorottya Udvaros and Tamás Ördög's Jérôme Bel, will explore the questions raised and attempt to discuss our own responsibility in relation to the topic in a discussion theatre performance with Trafó artists.
