Frenák alternately portrays the chauvinistic hatred, the stupid demanding, the fragile balance of power between the characters on stage.
FrenÁk's contemporary choreographic concept is conceived in a cinematic, almost theatrical dimension: the work carries within itself the intuitive knowledge of the human soul's workings. FIÚK is in direct contact with the deep layers of the unconscious, but it can also be understood as a relentless social vision. FrenÁk explores male sexuality from different angles: he reveals its origins and its sources in the unconscious. His sensuality is cruel, his ruthlessness poetic. Its symbolism is evocative. With black humour, sharp irony and aggression, the performance reveals the impoverishment of emotions, the cliché that dominates contemporary human relationships.
Pál Frenák, who has been working as a choreographer for forty years and founded his company in Hungary twenty years ago, has created a radically new style with his dynamic movement, his great sensitivity and his forms of expression that go beyond verbal messages. The company's performances are characterised by an integrated use of mimicry, sign language and movement, as well as the use of the co-arts (circus, theatre, contemporary fashion, design and architecture, contemporary music).
