Exit Generation

- on child protection, based on real accounts-

"You simply cannot see into these systems. That if you're not in it, if you don't have people on the inside talking, these things don't come out."

The documentary texts in the lecture are all testimonies of people involved in the child protection system.Former residents of the institutions, underage mothers and professionals have contributed to the viewers' insight into a world still shrouded in taboos and secrets through their deeply personal and subjective stories.

The picture that emerges from these stories shows how the same life situations are reproduced by the system generation after generation.

While the children's home is the only guarantee of physical survival for many, the main question for the characters is "how will I get out of here?". But we do not only get to know our characters through childhood traumas. The play also features complex human relationships and humorous everyday situations that shade the media's portrayal of domestic child protection. We find out what brothers and sisters will do for each other, whether someone kissed Cristiano Ronaldo and how to have a world-famous 18th birthday.

"Obviously I've been thinking a lot about why I feel guilty... So... When you survive things, when you come out of this whole fucking storm and you say, wow, I survived this and that... it's all very well to polish yourself up afterwards, that I made it, that I graduated, that I broke through, and blah blah blah, but everything has a price.

And it may not be worth it.Because it puts so much pressure on you, affects your every move, every emotion you feel, that it may not be worth it. And if you stay there, you're bound to either starve to death or physically die, but it doesn't matter there, it would have really happened. And then that's what our story would have been."

Location

Jurányi House

The Jurányi Production Community Incubator House has become a key venue in the capital's cultural life, a vibrant hub of the contemporary art scene.

Our aim in creating the Jurányi was to find a stable, shared home for the independent theatre and creative arts sector, providing the infrastructure necessary for its day-to-day operations. We wanted to create a cultural centre in the Buda area, a "contemporary art house" where theatre-loving young people could spend a few hours over a coffee or even a theatre performance, a creative children's activity or an acrobatic movement class, thus re-filling the abandoned educational institution with an active community life.

Jurányi is more than just a theatre in Buda, it is a creative and creative base where visitors can enjoy a varied artistic, community, and educational program, in addition to a regular repertoire of 300 productions a year. We are proud that the Jurányi House is now a graduation subject in some art schools.
