Musical monologue based on Franz Schubert's song cycle and Wilhelm Müller's poems, in German with Hungarian subtitles. The performance is performed without intermission. Duration approx. 1 hour 40 minutes. The performance will take place on the stage of the Örkény István Theatre Studio

A musical theatre experiment is in the making. One actor, one musician, one room. In this room, the self-destructive loneliness of Generation Y meets and stretches one another, and one of the main melancholy-topics of European culture: the Winter Journey song cycle by Schubert.
In recent times, many of us have experienced (and many of us struggle with this every day) what it is like to face ourselves within the four walls. We have seen how we can push ourselves into a vortex of doubts and fears. You walk up and down the same beaten path in your room, in virtual space and within yourself, like a tiger in a cage, always frowning around the corner, unnoticed.
"...What does one who is always in one place experience? What you see around you? What he has always known? Is it true if you haven't moved a step? Now, if there is no way out of stillness, then at most we experience how we are forgotten, but beyond that we have no power. We have no power anyway. If I am in one place, have I arrived? For good? Or is there still hope of getting out of here?..."

Örkény István Theatre
The Örkény István Theatre is an independent repertory theatre and one of the most important theatres in the country. Örkény is primarily a prose drama theatre, but our theatre is open to a wide variety of genres. Our repertoire has included more than a hundred works, from antiquity to contemporary works. Regardless of genre, we see the meaning of our work in our choice of high literature, in our careful rehearsals, in our openness to public issues, in our love of humour, grotesque and the many shades of irony. Our ten-year-old theatre education programme was one of the first in Hungary to open up a new channel for active, community-building engagement with audiences.
