Gergő 'Éger' Éles has been searching for his authenticity as a wind player in folk music, but he has found it most deeply in his own poetry, and in the last few years in songwriting, where he feels he has found a truly self-expressive authenticity. It follows that his melancholic, lyric-centred songs with their melancholic themes and guitar can be best described as poetic settings, where the music underpins, highlights and transfigures the words.
