The international formation initiated by vocalist Ilka Kisgyörgy reinterprets Transylvanian folk songs beyond traditional frameworks. DUNYHA’s distinctive sound is shaped by the language of collective free improvisation, enriched with elements of doom metal, dark ambient, and punk. This approach creates a unique atmosphere: it simultaneously evokes the roots of folk music while placing it in a contemporary, experimental context, highlighting the deep psychological layers embedded in these songs.

A key concept of the band is the presence of 'untouched ears' — musicians coming from outside the folk tradition, bringing a fresh, intuitive connection to the material.

Soma Nóvé is one of the defining artists of Hungary’s alternative music scene, first gaining recognition as the frontman of Middlemist Red. A versatile musician, he is active in several projects: MORDÁI, which blends Hungarian folk motifs with a contemporary approach; the electronic music project Samurai Drive; and When The Music’s Over, which freely reinterprets the legacy of The Doors. He also continues to write, perform and explore new musical directions through his duo with Sándor Csoóri Jr. and his solo project.

On this occasion, he presents a special acoustic evening, performing some of his favourite folk songs through the lens of his distinctive musical world. The atmosphere evokes the dusty, melancholic landscapes of Western films, creating a unique meeting point between Hungarian folk music and the mythology of the American West.
