Giacomo Puccini: A NYUGAT LÁNYA
2025-04-25T22:00:00.000Z - 2025-05-08T22:00:00.000Z
Opera in three acts, in Italian, with Hungarian, English and Italian subtitles
Length: 3 hours 30 minutes, with 2 intermissions.
Puccini saw David Belasco's play during a trip to New York in 1907 and decided to set to music a Wild West love story that seemed somewhat unusual on the operatic stage. The theatrical source material proved to be a good choice, and the powerful story leads the audience with a sure hand to the denouement. Minnie's character also fits in well with Puccini's heroines: driven by love and passion, she is not afraid to risk her life.
The work is directed by Vasily Barkhatov, who has been acclaimed throughout Russia and Europe.
