CineKorda presents: Le Grand Bleu
CineKorda /////////// Le Grand Bleu /////////// Luc Besson /////////// Corvin /////////// magyarante /////////// Cinema Niche
The Cinema Niche series, a collaboration between Magyar Ant and Corvin Cinema, aims to fill one of Hungary's largest cinema screens with special, once-in-a-lifetime film rarities that are not shown elsewhere. Every few weeks, CineKorda will offer new occasions where we hope to make cinema a real community experience with as many of you as possible in the 460-seat Korda Hall of Corvin Cinema.
In February, CineKorda will once again bring a French classic to one of the country's biggest cinema screens: in The Great Blue, French master Luc Besson takes his camera underwater to tell the true story of two friends from the deep - starring Jean Reno and Jean-Marc Barr.

The story of two divers, starting in the late 1950s, when Jacques Mayol and Enzo Molinari were still boys competing to set deep-sea diving records. Twenty years later, they are both at the top of the championship and their rivalry is becoming the defining feature of their lives. The Great Blue is a film of friendship, passion and the search for identity, exploring the duality of human relationships and the attraction to nature through the relationship between Jacques and Johanna. Luc Besson's visuals and Eric Serra's score made it one of the emblematic films of the 1980s and, although it divided critics at the time of its premiere in Cannes, it still enjoys cult status worldwide.

What is CineKorda?
Cinema Niche, a collaboration between the Hungarian Ant and Corvin Cinema, aims to fill one of Hungary's largest cinema screens with unique, once-in-a-lifetime film rarities that are not screened elsewhere. Every few weeks, CineKorda will offer new occasions where we hope to make cinema a real community experience with as many of you as possible in the 460-seat Korda Hall of Corvin Cinema.
Under the CineKorda banner, you'll be able to enjoy restored classics, personal favourites from filmmakers who are still leading the way in international film discourse.
We want to create a meeting place where the cinematic experience doesn't end when the lights go up, where the audience shapes the community and where you can have a cinematic experience that will stay with you for a long time.
