The film is based on the Hungarian folk tale "White Lofia", and its plot draws on the symbolism of the Avar, Hun and Hungarian sagas of origin. Fehérlófia, also known as Fanyűvő, the boy with superhuman strength, was born to a white mare. It is the story of his development and initiation: he sets out on a journey to defeat the three-, seven- and twelve-headed dragons that have taken over the world after the death of the White Horse, and to free his Autumn, Spring and Summer Fairies, who have been kidnapped by the dragons. Along the way, he takes on two other powerful men, Stonecrusher and Ironmaster, who join the boy, and outwits the cunning old man, Seven-toed Catcher in the Rye, who is pursuing the boys.
