Why has the joy of Slowness disappeared? How can one strive for real pleasure, for bodily encounters in an extremely fragmented society that is under the spell of speed? This is what the members of a raggle-taggle company (entomologists, TV staff, a politician, a typist, and Madame de T. and her adoring knight from the Eighteenth Century), all gathered in a French castle, are looking for. Milan Kundera's novel of the same title, Slowness, tells the prequel and the story of of a single adventurous night, depicting the different stages and rhythms of sensuality with three couples in love. Our performance is an attempt to visualize the accelerating slowness. The characters crash and bounce, humiliate, excite, and seduce each other in the ecstasy of speed, while compulsively sharing with us their thoughts on Europeanism, the distorting gaze of the public, the philosophy of Epicurus, and above all, sweltering pleasure.

An exam performance of the University of Theatre and Film Arts.

Se nem foglaltház, se nem romkocsma, de mindenképpen olyan közösségi tér és kultúrgócpont, ami olyan egykori történelmi helyek hagyományát viszi tovább, mint a Kultiplex vagy a West Balkán.
