Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein's musical, adapted from Jean Poiret's play, which was a worldwide hit on film and stage, has won multiple Tony Awards - and countless other accolades - for its 1983 premiere and its 2004 and 2010 revivals.
The Hungarian version was staged by Róbert Alföldi in a 2014 production of the Kultúrbrigád, which is now in its 400th performance. Some politicians say the production is dangerous because it features men dressed as women. So brace yourselves, the cage is opening!
