Zsuzsa Selyem: Little Cosmos
Zsuzsa Selyem: Little Cosmos

In conversation with the author: Anna Ott
Let's take our imaginary drone as high as we can, zigzag over sweet Transylvania or Budapest, rich in Dracula, then descend, say, over the Danube, and don't be surprised if our runaway drone suddenly circles the narrow skyways of Manhattan. All the while, we can follow closely as the narrators of Zsuzsa Selyem's new novel try to connect with their little cosmos.

Schedule
They are stumbling earthly souls, Icu Szél (whose "amigdalas were tattooed with #I'm a flawed #I can't love you"); his mother, Lili Osztrovszki (who always wanted a career as an actor & singer); Simon Portik aka Don (Icu's husband and father of her children, the emperor of life on the side); or Vera Bari, alter, Roma filmmaker (who is about to direct her film Little Cosmos), but we also witness the gossip of dogs chattering in the rain and the carefree whistling of impostor birds.
Zsuzsa Selyem's novel is sensitive and ironic, empathetic and provocative, relentless and comforting in its efforts to free its characters from the chaos that they are not the only ones to have created.
"The events may only meet at a single point, like bridges in Japanese gardens, but they do."

Kristály Cultural & Conference Venue
Budapest city’s newest cultural, gastro and community space was born in the heart of the Margaret-island which is located in the completely renovated building of the former mineral water bottler factory. It is a scene for exciting art cult productions (eg. theatre, dance, concert, children activities) for sports fans and people seeking health-conscious life. Kristály is an innovative, cool, informal place where you can build a community and which “connects and recreates people”.
