Within weeks of the new US President Donald Trump taking office, the US commitment to guarantee the security of Europe, which has ensured peace on the continent for the past almost 80 years, has been called into question. Russia is seeking to revive the Soviet empire, to restore its former sphere of interest. A new Western alliance is being formed in response to these threats, and Hungary seems to be left out of it. Is the Russian threat of war against the countries of the European Union realistic? Is Europe capable of security autonomy? Where is Hungary's place in the new world order?
