The feature-length film is based on episodes from the first two series of the cartoon series, which were supplemented with connecting scenes. In April 2019, Mozinet will release the digitally restored version in cinemas, so that new generations of children and parents can get to know this evergreen Hungarian classic tale.
Unlike his terrestrial counterparts, our friend the water spider does not weave his web in the mud or in the trees, but swims in the water. His friend, the slightly grumpy, ever-disbelieving Godfather Spider, is amazed. But through their relationship, he comes to understand that being different from him doesn't mean you can't be nice (a spider). The 1983 feature-length animated film is being digitally restored for cinemas to introduce a new generation of parents and children to the friendly and often funny little inhabitants of the living waters, while teaching them that friendship and protecting our environment are both important to keeping our planet a liveable place.
