BMC Records Goes Live | Eve Risser – Nainy Diabaté (FR/ML)

Eve Risser and Naïny Diabaté - formerly of Red Desert Orchestra and Kaladjula Band, Kogoba Basigui - bring the energy of sixteen musicians to the vocal-piano duo. They create a free, at once concentrated and explosive form of Mandé music from songs that speak of women's rights, the protection and dignity of children, and the importance of peaceful coexistence. The title of their programme, Anw be yonbolo in Bambara, means: we are together. The programme is a meeting of generations and cultures. The pianist Risser and the singer Diabaté carry on their heritage with a moving brotherhood: European and American music join hands with the tradition of Mali's singers and music to move together towards new continents. The result is at once imaginative and real, meditative and inviting to dance.
