Nocsak - Szigetszentmiklós úszóláp túra

📅 Itinerary

• Meeting: 11:00 – Nocsak Bar
• Departure: 11:30
• (Private SUP owners – be ready and done pumping by then!)

En route:

• Around 13:00 – Arrive at the Nature Trail Playground, short refreshment break
• Lunch: bring your own or try the Sétány Bistro (11 kinds of lángos, 4 kinds of burgers – tested and highly recommended! 🥪☕🧃)
• 14:00 – Start paddling back

On the way back, we will enjoy the flora and fauna of the floating fen 🦆🦢🐢🐸🌳.

If we still have energy, we will enter the Czuczor Island lagoon.

Around 16:00 – Return to Nocsak 😉

💪 Extra challenge: depending on the group’s stamina, 1 km each way at sports pace (optional) 🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️.

• With rented SUP: 11,500 HUF
• With own SUP: 6,500 HUF

Rental includes: full equipment, life jacket, waterproof bag.

🌿 Did you know? – About the Floating Fen

Szigetszentmiklós is home to Europe’s second-largest floating fen, located on the Ráckeve branch of the Danube.

It is a unique nature reserve that can be explored up close via a charming nature trail.

Trail length: 700 m – comfortably walked in 20–30 minutes.

Floating fens formed over decades as the river’s current slowed, depositing fine sediment, mixed with decaying plant matter, and eventually supporting reed beds and willows. The trees’ roots do not reach the riverbed, so in strong winds, they sway dramatically as if “floating” on the water.
