Ruben Östlund, the Swedish director turned global star, is the creator of The Triangle of Sadness, The Square and Lavina, and his earlier, lesser-known film. The film, based on true events, focuses on a gang of wild kids. It raises issues of immigration, tolerance, vulnerability and social responsibility. Accordingly, like all Östlund's other works, it has divided public and professional opinion alike. In the year of its release, it won the then great Titanic Film Festival, but it also blew the minds of many critics.
