A series of peculiar heists shakes the world’s most famous museums: a mysterious gang steals the most valuable paintings one by one. Despite all precautions, nothing can stop the Collector and his team from stealing more artworks, and the police are powerless. Only Kowalski, a private detective from Washington, notices what the stolen works have in common—but his life is also in danger when he falls in love with the gang’s femme fatale, Mimi. Panicked insurance companies offer hundreds of millions of dollars for the tip leading to the thieves, and upon hearing this, the underworld also joins the cat-and-mouse game, setting off an unstoppable chain of events.
