BDW | FONTFRONT WARM-UP discussion & networking
How long is a letter? – Boundaries and their blurring in the art of type design
Let's warm up together for this year's FONTFRONT competitions!

Schedule
On the occasion of Budapest Design Week, we invite you to an informal professional event exploring the boundaries of typography. The central question of the discussion will be: to what extent can a form be considered a letter, where is the boundary between typography and fine art, and does it make sense to talk about boundaries at all? The goal is not to find definitive answers, but to raise good questions and inspire discourse on contemporary typography.
Participating experts:
✱ Emese Benczúr | Munkácsy Prize-winning visual artist, associate professor, head of the MA Textile Design program specializing in textiles, Budapest Metropolitan University
✱ Dóra Balla | Ferenczy Noémi Award-winning graphic artist, associate professor at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, member of AGI
✱ Péter Bence Simon | Red Dot Award-winning typographer, DLA, head of the MOME Graphic Design Knowledge Center
Moderator:
Gergő Cuba, Red Dot award-winning graphic designer, lecturer at METU, one of the main organizers of FontFront
Start: 6:30 p.m.
The discussion will be followed by a networking party with great music at Kastner Kommunity.
