Francesco Scavetta (IT-SE): Nowhere Like Here | 14. SŐT7 festival
International contemporary dance performance, created as a joint work by dance artists from six countries, under the direction of the Italian-born Swedish choreographer Francesco Scavetta.

Schedule
The performance examines the emotional reactions evoked by the meaning of “home”—as a metaphor for identity, a place of intimacy, warmth, comfort, and love, but also of conflict and everyday routines. It’s the place where we let others in, and whose door we can close to be alone. Where we feel safe, and where even unwashed dishes can pile up. A utopian emotional space we recall with nostalgia: it's no coincidence that when we talk about home, we often turn back to childhood and the place where we grew up.
Nowhere Like Here unfolds a visual and metaphorical map of the concept of home as a microcosm of the world, where thresholds constantly appear, and boundaries become permeable again and again. The dancers on stage rediscover everyday rituals, embodying a constantly shifting physical landscape. The gesture of greeting becomes an iconic, forgotten language that simultaneously connects and repels in a short circuit of contradictions. The image of the house becomes part of our inner world: humans need houses for dreaming, for imagination. It is a politics of gazing, as opposed to the impression of a fleeting glance: illuminating and restless.
