The concept behind Willany Leó's performances is that there is "no concept." Performers from different genres come together with the aim of creating a performance that even they know nothing about. We specifically ask the performers not to leave their personal experiences outside the stage and to let whatever needs to happen happen by "being in the present." This is how each of our performances—like each of our days—becomes unique and unrepeatable. Slow, fast, sad, shocking, funny, sexy, virtuosic, loving, disappointed, calm, difficult, and uplifting. None of these, something completely different, or all of them at once.

The Willany Leó Improvisational Dance Theater was founded in 2008 under the leadership of choreographer and dance teacher Zoltán Grecsó. Over the past decade and a half, we have had the honor of welcoming renowned actors, directors, writers, critics, and, to our great delight, students from the Hungarian Dance Academy and the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy to our audience. We are particularly honored that in 2019, the Willany Leó Improvisational Dance Theater received a special award from the Lábán Rudolf Prize, founded by Trafó House of Contemporary Arts and MU Theater, and in 2024, it was nominated for #kaméleon no.4 – "ripples in silence, The misty waltz" (choreographer: Júlia Vavra). In our creative community workshop, we use the tools of dance, music, and improvisation to explore topics of interest to the creators.
