Having lost his hearing as a child, Tihanyi created colors and forms out of silence and found his own unique voice in the language of painting. Without any formal academic training, he developed an extraordinary visual language that made him one of the most original figures of the Nyolcak artist group and 20th-century Hungarian painting.
