200,000 light bulbs and 6 km of fairy lights make the 9,000 m² NEFAG Light Park a magical place
Until February 1, 2026, Bagolyvár Wildlife Park will be transformed into a special light exhibition every evening: NEFAG Light Park – The Park of Light Animals, the Szolnok stop of the DECOLED Story of Lights light exhibition series, will open. The spectacular display, consisting of more than seventy installations, two hundred thousand light bulbs and six kilometers of fairy lights, invites visitors to an evening "safari" on the banks of the Tisza River. What makes the exhibition special is that animal sculptures – foxes, bears, lions, and deer – come to life in a natural environment, while photo spots add a new dimension to the city's evening life.
The Bagolyvár Wildlife Park in Szolnok is hosting the Story of Lights light exhibition series for the first time. The family-friendly winter program covers an area of nearly 9,000 square meters, where more than 70 light sculptures can be viewed. More than 200,000 light bulbs and a string of lights over six kilometers long illuminate foxes, bears, a pride of lions, life-size deer, and birds, while the light tunnel and photo spots offer playful stops along the way. The concept deliberately chooses a "gentle spectacle": the emphasis is on the evening presence of nature and animals, not on exaggerated attractions.
The light exhibition is the result of concentrated teamwork: ten specialists carried out the on-site installation in about a week, spending roughly 800 working hours, supported by more than 20 colleagues in the background, from planning to logistics.
Sándor Fehér, CEO of NEFAG Zrt., said: "This exhibition is not only spectacular, but also a real community-building experience—a new winter meeting place where families, friends, and visitors to our city can experience the magic of lights together. I believe that this light park will bring new color to the cultural and tourist life of Szolnok and turn every winter evening into a real celebration. I am delighted that we can be part of one of Hungary's largest light exhibitions. I believe that both the people of Szolnok and those living in the surrounding area will marvel at this exhibition, which has been dreamed up in this impressive setting. Animals, lights, and shared experiences – this is the NEFAG Light Park!"
Animals have always had a special symbolism for people—and light gives them new life. I believe that visitors will feel like they are on a fairy-tale safari, where every step holds a new surprise," added Eva Poláčková, managing director of DECOLED.
The NEFAG Light Park (Bagolyvár Wildlife Park) will be open daily from October 24, 2025, to February 1, 2026, between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
