WINDOW TO MY WORLD – CONCRETE SCULPTURE WORKSHOP WITH SCULPTOR BALÁZS VERES

2026-01-18T12:00:00.000Z

Have you ever created anything out of concrete? Do you know what formwork is? Now you can make your own concrete sculpture in a 24x24 cm panel. The theme will be windows, and we will start by looking at some works from the Ludwig Museum collection.

During the workshop, you will learn a lot about concrete and how to use it as a raw material for sculpture. To make the casting, you will need formwork, which you will make yourself. The theme will be windows, but you will have the opportunity to shape them in different ways, creating one or two-pane, square or arched window designs. If you want to learn how to work with concrete, this is the place to try out an exciting technique! You are about to experience one of the most exciting workshops of your life!

The program is led by sculptor Balázs Veres.

Balázs Veres graduated as a sculptor from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Pécs. During his university years, he encountered concrete, which remains the main material of his sculpture to this day. In 2016, he founded the Monostori Artists' Colony, creating one of Hungary's most significant workshops for non-institutional concrete sculpture, together with Hungarian and foreign artists. In 2018, he co-founded the BUMm studio house in Budakalász. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Hungary and abroad, and his works can be found in several private collections and public spaces.
