Vass Imre: MMXXV

2026-01-16T19:00:00.000Z

What relaxes you, what keeps you excited? Thirty-six years after the release of Enigma's iconic album MCMXC a.D., dancer-choreographer Imre Vass invites us into a sensual and safe space with his new piece, where we can rethink our relationship with intimacy, desire, and attachment, as well as our resistance and fears associated with them.

Schedule

MMXXV is a mysterious and sensual space where the performers submit themselves to the soft pulsation of the music with their unadorned presence. In a consensual relationship, filled with attention, lost in each other's gaze, supported by their breath. Playing with subordination and superiority, they gently and deeply scratch the surface. Without shame and shedding their inhibitions, they connect with themselves, each other, and their environment.

"Good evening!

This is the voice of Enigma.

We will take you to another world:

the world of music, soul, and meditation.

Turn off the lights, take a deep breath,

and let the rhythm show you the way."

These lines opened Enigma's iconic debut album, MCMXC a.D., released in 1990. Michael Cretu, a Romanian-born keyboardist, composer, and producer who emigrated to Germany, fled burnout to his home in Ibiza, where, in the solitude of his studio, he recorded his provocative and taboo-breaking album, which combines elements of worldbeat, new age, Gregorian, ambient, dance, and pop elements, touching on themes of religion and sexuality.

Thirty-six years later, MMXXV invites us to immerse ourselves in the energy of sensuality, where the audience can contemplate their relationship with intimacy, desire, and attachment, or their resistance and fears associated with it, in a sensual and safe space.

2025 is the year of the snake, a period of transformation, healing, and change in perspective. If you haven't gone through the big change yet, you can still do so before February 17, 2026, the beginning of the lunar new year!

The doors open half an hour before the start (7:30 p.m.), so the audience can arrive at their own pace and find comfortable seats.

Please note: Kókusz, the African king python, appears in the performance.
