Man-su (Lee Byung-hun – Squid Game – Win Your Life) has been a valued employee at the local paper mill for decades. He lives the Korean dream: he lives with his wife, two children, and two dogs in a spacious family home, where he spends his free time tending to his bonsai trees. However, the factory's new owner begins downsizing in the name of modernization, and soon Man-su finds himself out on the street. His initial determination to find work is replaced by despair: after a while, even keeping his pets becomes as much of a problem as making regular mortgage payments. A series of humiliating situations finally drives Man-su to take steps that cross all boundaries.
