Getting to know the sewing machine - intensive workshop

Learn the basics of sewing with a machine in a professional way, so that you can use your sewing skills, built on a solid foundation, to create wonderful textile works!

You may have some bad memories of unsuccessful attempts with a sewing machine. Did the thread get tangled? Or were you unable to thread it? Were you unsure what all the sewing programs were for? If sewing has been a struggle for you so far, now is the time to put an end to it!

The first steps in sewing

You can learn not only how to use a sewing machine, but also basic sewing techniques:

- how to make a straight seam,

- how to make durable textile work that doesn't fray or unravel,

- how to sew in a zipper,

- the basics of bag sewing.

We have refined our well-developed curriculum over the years and tailored it to the needs of our participants. We provide step-by-step descriptions of what you have learned so that you can practice what you have learned in the course at home.

We teach through practice! We learn through practice exercises and trial materials, and then we conclude each technique and each new skill by making a useful and attractive household textile.

What you will make:

- sandwich bag,

- lined shopping bag,

- zippered cosmetic bag.

This way, after just a few hours of getting to know the sewing machine, you can proudly look at the wonderful pieces you have made yourself.

You'll be in good company! You'll meet like-minded people who also want to learn to sew, and you can exchange ideas and inspire each other. (In small groups of 4-5 people)

What should you bring?

Your good mood! We provide everything else (tools and materials) in the workshop.

But if

- you want to learn on your own sewing machine, you can bring it with you,

- you want to work with your own materials and make a matching 3-piece set, then bring the following: 1m of decorative canvas (thicker fabric), 1m of thin cotton or mixed fabric, and matching thread.
