2026-01-16T17:00:00.000Z

Create unique printed artworks for your home—or as a gift.

At this workshop, you’ll get to know the basics of linocut printing, from designing your image and learning how to use the tools all the way to making your own prints. You can experiment with different types of carving tools, papers, and inks, and create your own pattern. At the end of the workshop, you can also take home your carved linoleum block so you can keep experimenting at home.

How is a linocut print made?

Linocut is a printmaking technique—specifically a relief printing process—where we carve a design by hand into a linoleum sheet using special gouges.

First, we draw the planned design, then transfer it onto the linoleum block using tracing paper. Next comes the most exciting part: carving. Once the block is ready, we roll ink onto the surface with a brayer and press it onto the chosen paper. The carved areas remain white, while the rest appears as the printed image.

During the workshop, you will create:

  1. Your own unique linoleum block
  2. Prints made from your own linocut design
  3. You can also try pre-made linocut blocks (you may choose freely) and make prints from them

Participation fee: 8,500 HUF

Places are limited (max. 10 people)

Date & time: January 16, 18:00–21:00

Workshop leader: Fruzsina Vékony, architectural artist

“Hi, I’m Fruzsi Vékony. I graduated in Architecture at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. I’ve always loved trying new things and experimenting across different fields, so I’m constantly looking for opportunities to learn something new. That’s how I discovered linocut printing, too. My goal in this workshop is for everyone to experience the freedom of making art and the joy of hand-printed artworks.”

We provide all tools and materials!
