The role of Mohács in the visual arts | Slide show and curator-led tour of Pál Kő's exhibition

2026-02-05T16:00:00.000Z

Pál Kő had a defining and unique career as a sculptor from the 1970s to the first decade of the 2000s. The three-room exhibition presents his small-scale wooden sculptures, bronze statues, medals, and public sculptures from the beginning of his career, along with the models and photos that were made for them.

In a separate room, we have recreated elements of the Mohács memorial site, reconstructing one of the largest outdoor sculpture groups of the era in our installation: the figures of Louis II, Suleiman, and Pál Tomori, with a large crossbow and a statue of a Turkish horse.
