David Yengibarian Trio (AM/HU)

2026-02-28T19:00:00.000Z

David Yengibarian, who is of Armenian descent, continued his music studies in Hungary from 1995, where he eventually became one of the most sought-after jazz and world music performers and composers. He has released seven albums of his own and has also composed numerous theater and film scores. The main sources of inspiration for his folk-inspired music are Armenian musical traditions, European and American jazz and improvisational music, as well as Argentine tango and the innovative work of Astor Piazzolla. His trio is characterized above all by its improvisational, evocative, and emotionally rich performances. In recent years, the band has performed with several prominent Hungarian and foreign guests, such as Miklós Lukács, Tony Lakatos, and Gevorg Dabaghyan. Their repertoire for this concert consists mainly of their own compositions, but Balkan and Latin songs may also appear in the program.
