Budapesti bemutató - Isteni színjáték Szegedi Kortárs Balett
2026-03-19T18:00:00.000Z
I. Inferno: “Consider well the seed that gave you birth:
you were not made to live your lives as brutes,
but to be followers of worth and knowledge.”
In the depths of the nine circles of Hell, sinners trapped in the prison of their own personalities can never be released. Depending on the gravity of their sins, their penance becomes darker and more desperate.
II. Purgatorio: “In which the human spirit from sinful blot
Is purg’d, and for ascent to Heaven prepares.”
In the hope-seeking stages of Purgatory, repentant souls prepare to enter Heaven. Here they will not face endless suffering, but hope and purification.
III. Paradiso: “Here force failed my high fantasy; but my
desire and will were moved already—like
a wheel revolving uniformly—by
the Love that moves the sun and the other stars.”

Schedule
In the nine celestial spheres of Heaven, various virtues and divine orders appear, and Dante gradually gains an ever deeper knowledge of the world and its eternal truths, until he glimpses the Heavenly Father himself, the essence of pure light and love. And this God has a human face and a human heart; this God is close to man.
The Divina Commedia dance play is not a literary adaptation, but a stirring polemic on the timeless human questions of guilt, repentance, and redemption. Dante’s journey from Hell to Paradise is also our own inner journey—that of every human in search of meaning, beauty, and light.
