VERMEER // Exhibition on Screen
Every Tuesday and Saturday, Castle Garden Bazaar (Várkert Bazár) holds art film screenings featuring the works of various artists in the exhibition hall of the Várkert Bazár Testőrpalota.

Schedule
The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has put together the most comprehensive Vermeer exhibition in history, displaying 28 of his 35 known works from around the world. This Exhibition episode was directed by David Bickerstaff (Pissaro, Father of Impressionism, Sunflowers), and presents Vermeer masterpieces such as Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Geographer, The Milkmaid, and the newly restored Girl Reading a Letter at an Open Window, much to the delight of fans. But the film introduces us to more than just the works of this brilliant 17th-century artist! We also get a glimpse into the work of the exhibition's organizers—world-renowned curators and Vermeer experts—who shed new light on Vermeer's mysterious life, his masterpieces, his artistic decisions, the driving forces behind his compositions, and the creative processes behind his paintings. Vermeer's oeuvre is most often associated with his calm, intimate genre paintings that reveal his private sphere; his unprecedented vivid, colorful (cobalt blue and yellow) palette; and his illusionistic, realistic style of representation.
