STARS & CRAFT - Craft Beer and Astronomy at FIRST Taproom

Our friendship with the Svábhegyi Csillagvizsgáló team began with the naming of our barrel-aged beers, and then spanned many joint programs.

This spring, not only will we return to Svábhegy for the Stargate Evenings, but there will also be more informal interactive, astronomical conversations in the FIRST Taproom!

The evenings when not only the taps, but the entire universe opens up above the bar!

On April 24, Róbert Vizi, the Svábhegyi Csillagvizsgáló’s presenting astronomer, will be our guest at the FIRST Craft Beer Taproom, who will help us unravel the secrets of comets, meteor showers and cosmic catastrophes – in a simple way, with stories, and in a relaxed atmosphere.

During the evening, we will discover, for example:

• why comets have been feared for centuries
• what the ominous celestial signs of the Bayeux Tapestry mean
• what do celestial phenomena have to do with the triumph in Nándorfehérvár
• how realistic was the Deep Impact or Armageddon doomsday scenario
• why Hungary – and Krisztián Sárneczky – is at the forefront of discovering new celestial bodies
• and when is the next time to spy on the sky for a spectacular meteor shower

And the best part?

After the performance, you can examine real meteorites from space under a microscope! In the taproom, wow! 🤯
