In the middle of a barren, semi-desert landscape, ancient ruins tell of great events from the distant past. A battered bus pulls up in front of them, carrying the cast members, who, after unpacking their costumes, immediately set about performing the greatest story of all time. Judas sits on a rocky outcrop, surveying the wilderness and pondering the calamities Jesus has brought upon the poor Jewish people. But the coming of the Messiah is not merely a mystery to him. At first, the other disciples, too, stand bewildered before the Savior’s actions and his voluntary sacrifice—right up to the inevitable final sacrifice: the cross.
