Bookbinding Workshop

During the workshop, you’ll learn about the structure and materials of books, as well as the techniques and basics of bookmaking. Using period printing blocks and a historical binding technique, you’ll be able to create your own little book.

No prior experience is required to participate in the workshop; we provide all tools and materials.
The session will be led by bookbinder and book restorer Márk Somogyi.
“I’ve been working in restoration and bookbinding for nearly 25 years. I’ve gained experience in various places both here and abroad; I’ve lived and worked in England and Spain. I currently work as a restorer at Trinity College Dublin. I strive to continually update my knowledge and familiarize myself with a variety of materials and techniques.”
