Schedule
Maciej Kuźmiński (PL) – Daria Koval (UA): Resistance Movement
This documentary performance is the sincere testimony of a Ukrainian refugee dance artist. The piece explores the processing of war trauma, the reclamation of roots, and the power of resisting destruction. Based on movement research, the solo originates from the dancer's personal story and evolves into a ritual, where stage nudity becomes an attribute of honesty and openness.
Performance, costume, testimony, and voice: Daria Koval
Choreography: Maciej Kuźmiński, in collaboration with Daria Koval
Dramaturgy, lighting design: Maciej Kuźmiński
Music: Max Richter, Daria Koval, Maciej Kuźmiński
Video editing: Aleksander Joachimiak, Maciej Kuźmiński
Duration: 12 min
Age recommendation: 18+
Yaroslav Kainar (UA): Annihilation
In the context of dance, the scientific concept of annihilation (destruction/obliteration) becomes an irreversible process. Yaroslav Kainar’s solo explores a state in which the body absorbs the smallest vibrations of the outside world. His presence is simultaneously fragile and graceful, transforming on stage into a kind of "archiving substance" that records every impulse before finally fading away.
Concept, choreography, music concept, and performance: Yaroslav Kainar
Director: Krystyna Shishkaryova
Duration: 40 min
The performances Resistance Movement and Annihilation are realized within the framework of the dancEUA Creative Europe project (2024–2027), established by Studio Contemporary Dance Company (Croatia), Central Europe Dance Theatre (Hungary), Vitlycke – Centre for Performing Arts (Sweden), M Studio (Romania), and UA Contemporary Dance Platform (Ukraine) to support the local development of contemporary dance.
