The director uses relics of the consolidating socialism (radio warblers, grilled pasta, Bambi soda, house radio) to show the era when Who Knows was still a crowd-pleasing event, with winners getting to travel to Helsinki beyond the Iron Curtain. It also recalls the often kitschy but well-known hits of the era, interpreted by the performers of the 1990s.
