Contemporary opera

The performance is not recommended for children under 16.

The first play in Wagner's tetralogy is a prelude to the "original sin", in which Alberich the dwarf forges for himself a ring of infinite power at the cost of stealing the treasure of the Rhine. Wotan, lord of the gods, is determined to get it from him. But what at last? Can we rebel against nature and break every written and unwritten rule?

The Opera House has commissioned Béla Balázs Prize-winning animation filmmaker Géza M. Tóth for the reimagining of the Ring, a huge artistic undertaking that will be launched in spring 2015.
