Schedule

The cultural significance of the Esterházy Art Award is not only reflected in the awarding of the prize, but also in the accompanying exhibition. Thanks to its size, its central role and the careful selection of the nominated artists, it is a benchmark for the young Hungarian art scene. Founded in 2009, the aim of the award is to promote contemporary art and international dialogue.

The prize, which carries a €5,000 prize each, is awarded every two years to a minimum of two and a maximum of three Hungarian artists under the age of 45 by an independent, international jury of experts. The competition is open to artists working in painting and painting-related techniques, as well as space installations using these techniques.

The winners for 2021 are Sára Luca Rózsa, Kata Tranker and Ádám Ulbert.
