Schedule
In addition to instrumental pop music and jazz, the Barabás Lőrinc Quartet, formed in 2015, combines a variety of styles, with compositions that are influenced by both world and classical music. Their latest album has a new line-up, with familiar stylistic features such as regular, repetitive forms, pure simplicity and the ability to play with a variety of styles, but still with a new sound. The title track, Open, is all the more ambitious, with influences of rock, funk and classic jazz, the members showing off their best skills on the solos and engaging in a vibrant dialogue with each other.
Members: Lőrinc Barabás - trumpet, Mátyás Premecz - keyboards, Péter Ajtai - double bass, Ádám Klausz - drums
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
