Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, this masterpiece stars Jack Nicholson in one of the best performances of his life as Jack Torrace, who moves his family to a haunted hotel as caretakers during the winter dead season. If the centuries-old walls could tell a story, dozens of gruesome tales would emerge. Jack's young son seems to have no secrets from the house, as he sees a woman drowned in a bathtub, a man executed in an elegant suite, and all the dead souls that can find no rest. But maybe all these horrors are just a sign of something. The madness overwhelming Jack's mind, the process by which the loving father becomes a bloodthirsty monster with a murderous streak.
