Turin, 1938 For Ginia, who has recently moved from the countryside to the city, the future seems to offer endless possibilities. Like all girls her age, she wants to fall in love and finds it in a young painter. She discovers the bohemian Turinese society of artists with the help of Amelia: a little older, sensual and defiant, Amelia is unlike anyone Ginia has met in her life and she is influenced to question her previous beliefs. Torn between a sense of duty and the discovery of a desire that confuses her, Ginia is overcome by emotions she dare not name. During the "beautiful summer", she finally gives in to her feelings and takes the courage to be herself.
