**On 15 November, Fritz Lang's M **- A Town in Search of a Murderer (1931), a form-defining masterpiece of innocence, peril and exclusion, will be screened at the Gólya.

On 27 October, CineKorda will screen Ulrich Seidl's Sparta (2022) at the Corvin Cinema, which, like so many cornerstones of film and literary history, depicts the fascisation of a community through the contemptuous hatred and bloodthirsty persecution of deviance.

The film takes its title from the Sparta camp, where Ewald, the main character, creates an alternative community for local young boys and adolescents. The boys learn to dodge, play games that rewrite their previous subordinate roles, experience intimacy and love for the first time, while, unknowingly, becoming vulnerable to Ewald's affections. The adults turn against the camp not because they fear for their children, but because Ewald's sin turns the established forms of guilt - a cold, abusive, unloving family life - upside down.
In M, there is a scene that condenses the film, expressing not only the psychology of the protagonist, but the acting itself, modelling the actor on stage or in front of the camera, the single, unforgiving, unforgiving, unforgiving, unforgiving, unforgiving, unforgiving, unforgiving.
