Bela Tarr - Retroperspective
Come to Cirkó to watch Béla Tarr films!

Schedule
The director's very first film, The Family Firehouse, made under the auspices of the Budapest School, will be screened, as will his latest film, The Turin Horse, which was released in 2011, and which was intended to close his oeuvre. We will also screen the rarely screened 1981 film Free Pawn, the 1987 film Damnation - the first collaboration with his later permanent writing partner László Krasznahorkai - and the Werckmeister harmonies from Krasznahorkai's novel. And on Sunday, the final day of the festival, you can immerse yourself in the world of Béla Tarr with the monumental masterpiece Satan's Tango, over 7 hours long.
Béla Tarr will receive the European Film Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award at the 36th European Film Awards ceremony this December. Many congratulations to the master!
