I flipped a coin, both sides are heads. I'm neither a magician nor a swindler, and the system is probably not glitching, although we can never be absolutely sure. Dániel Fazekas' coin series titled Psychoticon evokes the visuality of the golden age of computing, when Web 2.0 hadn't yet shattered our dreams of roaming and Windows wallpapers were really windows to a utopian sky. Yet the nostalgia is not sweet, because the regression brings to the surface older, childhood anxieties, solidified in the loose movements of street art in two dimensions. The visual language of the post-internet allows the evocation of video games of the nineties to carry at once depressing socio-cultural contents, liberating psychological confrontations and just enough humour to bear them.
