Year after year, the Bozsik Yvette Company addresses the youngest audience through the language of dance. After The Ladders, The Magic Circus, Peter and the Wolf, The Most Beautiful Fairy Tales of the Thousand and One Thousand and One Thousand and One Nights and Dancing with the Stars, this time we are presenting a dance adaptation of a classic fairy tale, The Cat in the Boots, on the stage of the House of Traditions, at the invitation of the National Dance Theatre.
At the heart of the tale lies a desire to help in search of justice, which is a very important lesson and parable for children. The cunning and actions of Puss in Boots are motivated by the desire to help his kind-hearted master, who has been penniless and run over, and to defeat the giant. The relationship between the tomcat and the miller's boy is based on selflessness, love and respect, on absolute trust in each other. Every trick, every ruse is a means to the tomcat's end, so that justice may prevail. The production's unique music is composed by Philippe Heritier, a Swiss composer based in Paris who has worked with the company for more than 20 years.
National Dance Theatre
On 15 February 2019, Budapest's unique new cultural arena opened its doors: the new National Dance Theatre in Millenáris Park. The building, equipped with the latest theatre technology and featuring unique architectural solutions, offers two theatre halls and a chamber hall for dance lovers, as well as rehearsal rooms for professional dancers. The foyer of the building will also become a community space open to visitors to the park, giving Millenáris the opportunity to become even more part of the capital's bloodstream.
