Schedule
Dedicated young Carla is the head of a seventh-grade class in a school in Germany. The multicultural environment of teachers and students is relatively calm until one of the children is suspected of theft. The teacher believes in the boy's innocence and disagrees with her colleagues' investigative methods, so she takes matters into her own hands. Her action sets off a series of events that will shake up the whole school. True to her principles, Carla takes on a much greater burden than she first realised: in the conflict between opposing students, angry parents and teachers, she could lose her job.
Winner of two prizes at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, The Teachers' Room is an exciting and multi-faceted film. At the German Film Awards, the Oscar-winning The Situation in the West is Unchanged took home Best Film, Best Director, Best Editing, among others.
