The Seeker

Joint exhibition by Katarina Šević and Gergely László (Tehnica Schweiz)

Co-authors.

Open to visitors: 05.11.2023 - 07.01.2024.

The Seeker is doomed to wander, not towards some final destination, but on the journey itself and the navigation along it. On his journey he gathers information, orientates himself, dissects and then rearranges the imprints of the present. It filters out what is superfluous, what is false, what is deceptive, what is created by any interest, it filters out what is untrue or what seems more real than reality. It looks for what lies behind the facts and the reports of the present, for what lies behind the written and between the lines.

Although the Seeker is securely oriented in the present, his knowledge and the decision-making mechanisms that help him to orient himself cannot be preserved for the future as anything other than empty rites. What will be gleaned from these defunct movements and rituals? Will the Seekers of the future be able to read their own past?

The exhibition by Katarina Šević and Gergely László presents works of different genres, made by the artists individually or in collaboration with other co-creators, in a diorama that focuses on the possibilities of organizing knowledge, preserving the present and reading the past in retrospect, which can be captured in small gestures, everyday gestures, sounds or subtle approaches, leaving aside the concrete content.
