Carnival
The ill-fated Romanian playwright Ion Luca Caragiale wrote a deceptive, misunderstood, roundabout comedy about the small man in the big city, which in a new translation and adaptation by Kornél Hamvai, to be premiered in 2023, shows even more accurately and truthfully our weaknesses due to love, vanity and the fear of love.

An entrepreneur, who is up to his elbows in everything, drives two women at the same time, both of them have husbands, and when the carnival comes, it's suddenly not clear who's jealous of whom in the costumes.
The masks are put on, the inhibitions come off, and there is no more truth, shame or remorse in the love-puzzle.
Thália Theatre
In the Thália Theatre, the focus is on light-hearted entertainment, in the spirit of the "Pest Broadway" of Nagymező Street. The Thália Winter Garden, inaugurated in 2019, is a little more serious, while the Arizona Studio is home to independent productions. In 2017, the capital reaffirmed its confidence in the management, with Gábor Kálomista applying for the post of managing director and Géza Bereményi as an advisor.
